Members of the CARE Oncology Faculty recently attended CLCCO (Canadian Lung Cancer Conference) 2015 held in Vancouver, BC on February 5-6, 2015.
The meeting provided an opportunity for education and networking and was attended by Canadian academic and community specialists. Participating specialties included medical oncology, radiation oncology, respiratory medicine and pathology. In addition to the plenary sessions of the conference, the annual trainee education session was held on february 5th. A CARE Working Group meeting was also held on Saturday, february 7th, with select members of the faculty meeting to discuss current treatment options and the place of novel targeted agents within the lung cancer treatment landscape in Canada.
The CARE Conference Report content that follows is drawn from the CLCCO sessions, the trainee education meeting, and the working group. The emphasis of this report is on biomarkers in clinical practice, as well as the great debates in lung cancer. Content is augmented with perspectives and commentary from the CARE Oncology Faculty.
